Fiorella Kostoris

Fiorella Kostoris is Professor of Economics at the University of Rome La Sapienza. She has taught at the College of Europe in Bruges, at the Fondation Nationale des Sciences Politiques in Paris, and at Columbia University in New York. She has been Fellow at Nuffield College in Oxford, and Visiting Scholar at MIT, where she previously got a Master of Sciences, and at CORE (Centre for Operations Research and Econometrics) in Louvain-la-Neuve. She received her Italian degree from Bocconi University in Milan. Fiorella Kostoris is research fellow in the public policy program of CEPR (Centre for Economic Policy Research) and member of various research groups in different countries. She has been a consultant for the International Monetary Fund European Department and member of the Conseil d’Analyse Economique du Premier Ministre Français for many years. She is counterpart for Italy of the Bertelsmann Foundation International Reform Monitor Project. Former President of ISAE (Institute of Economic Studies and Analysis) with the double role of CEO and Director of Research, Fiorella Kostoris is now one of the seven members of the board of CIVR, appointed by the Italian Government, assessing the quality of the research output of all Italian universities and research centres and Vice-President in the AHELO OECD feasibility study assessing the learning outcomes of university students in OECD countries. She chairs the Board of Directors of the Sella Investment Fund, and is member of the Eurogroup of 50. She has received many honors and awards, including the nomination of Officier dans l’Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur in France and the one of Grande Ufficiale al Merito in Italy. She wrote or coauthored 25 books and 100 papers on topics ranging from macroeconomics to labor economics, from public finance to economic policy.
